Shalom Meir Tower, completed in the mid 1960s and for years the tallest building in the Middle East. Israel's first skyscraper, and the moment Tel Aviv stopped being a low white city. It stands on the site of the Herzliya Hebrew Gymnasium, which was demolished to make room for it.
